1. Since the Max force of Tongue during swallowing is thrusted on Incisors, Tng tamers are placed on palatal surface of U/L incisors.
2. Lat Tng Thrust is the result of either Macroglossia or Narrow, constricted, V shaped U/L arches. We have spcl Lat Tng Cribs for its prevention.
3.Ask the pt to swallow normally & tell u where does his Tng rests during deglutition. If its Palatal rugae, its normal.
4. If the Tng rests behing U-incisors, give him U-Fxd Palatal cribs.
5. If the Tng rests on L-incsrs, provide him L-fxd Tng spikes.
6. Latest advancements of these cribs are in the form of Tongue Tamers, bonded palatally on U/L incisors.
7. For those Adult cases, where Tng training is required for Tng thrust, Word Stutter & Speech Therapy, etc, Blue Grass Appliance is used.
