📢 JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru, through its IPR Cell and Institution Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized an IPR Awareness Event on 21st May 2026 to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day under the theme “Benchside to Bedside.”

The program focused on translating innovative laboratory research into practical healthcare solutions and witnessed participation from 121 students and 10 faculty members.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Prashanth Vishwanath, Dean Research, JSS AHER, and Dr. Dhakshaini M. R., Principal, JSS Dental College & Hospital, who emphasized the importance of innovation, patent protection, and commercialization in healthcare research.

Technical sessions by Dr. Phandareesh M. and Dr. Asha Srinivasan provided valuable insights into translational research, medical device regulations, and intellectual property rights. The interactive sessions encouraged active discussions on patents, technology transfer, and start-up incubation.

The event concluded with certificate distribution and appreciation for the institution’s continued efforts in promoting innovation and research excellence.

📘 National Authors–Reviewers Workshop 2026 Conducted at JSSDCH

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSS AHER, Mysuru, in association with the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD), successfully organized the National Authors–Reviewers Workshop 2026 titled “Academic Lens – Mastering Authorship and Peer Review” on 15th and 16th May 2026.

The workshop focused on enhancing awareness and skills in scientific writing, manuscript preparation, publication ethics, and peer review among academicians, researchers, faculty members, and postgraduate students.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Manjunatha B, Registrar, JSS AHER; Dr. Sudhindra Baliga, President, ISPPD; Dr. Sharath Asokan, Editor-in-Chief, JISPPD; Dr. Dhakshaini M.R., Principal, JSS Dental College and Hospital; Dr. H.P. Jaishankar, Vice Principal; senior faculty and former Dean Dr. Nandalal; and Dr. Raghavendra Shanbhog, Head of the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, along with members of the organizing committee.

The dignitaries emphasized the importance of ethical research, academic writing, and quality scientific publishing in today’s academic environment.

The workshop featured 10 eminent speakers who delivered insightful sessions on various aspects of scientific writing and peer review. The sessions were highly interactive, informative, and academically enriching. Around 140 delegates from different parts of Karnataka actively participated in the program.

The workshop was successfully coordinated by Dr. Brinda Suhas Godhi, Organizing Secretary, and Dr. Seema Deshmukh, Treasurer, with the support of the organizing committee members.

The program concluded with excellent feedback and appreciation from speakers and delegates for its scientific relevance and seamless organization.

🦷✨ The AI Unit of JSS Dental College and Hospital AI Unit successfully organized a two-day workshop titled “AI Basics for Dental Professionals” on 8th & 9th April 2026 at JSS Dental College and Hospital.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from AI Unit members, faculty, house surgeons, and first-year postgraduate students, highlighting the growing interest in Artificial Intelligence in dentistry and healthcare.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Anupama, who emphasized the transformative role of AI in dental education, research, and clinical practice.

The participants were addressed by Dr. Lavanya B N, Founder & CEO of Avinya Techknows, along with Dr. Benjamin Sukumar S, who highlighted the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence in modern society and healthcare.
