JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru, hosted a series of lectures and research interaction sessions with Dr. Prem K. Srinivasan, Director – Medical Affairs, HITLAB, New York, USA, and Adjunct Faculty, JSSAHER, Mysuru, from 10–14 August 2026.

The academic programme featured lectures on “Laboratory Techniques for the Enumeration of Bacteria: A Practical Primer” and “Biofilms: Life Cycle, Health and Societal Impacts, Evaluation Methods and Control,” engaging house surgeons, postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty across Dentistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy and related disciplines.

The visit also included focused research interactions on high-impact publications, APC waiver opportunities, dental unit waterline microbial monitoring, biofilm research, confocal microscopy applications and cross-disciplinary research collaborations. Dr. Srinivasan interacted with faculty, researchers and PhD scholars at JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSSAHER Sophisticated Advanced Instrument Centre, JSS School of Life Sciences, Ooty, and JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty.

A special lecture at the Department of Microbiology, JSSAHER, Mysuru, was attended by around 150 students from Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology. At JSS School of Life Sciences and JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, further lectures and research discussions encouraged interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative research initiatives.

Dr. Srinivasan also participated as Chief Guest at the 80th Independence Day celebrations at JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty.

The visit provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, research networking, interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthening academic partnerships across JSS institutions. 🌐🔬🦷

🎉 JSSDCH Faculty Honored at JSS AHER EDGE Certificate Distribution Ceremony

Faculty members of JSS Dental College & Hospital (JSSDCH), Mysuru, were honored with completion certificates for successfully completing the executive program “AI for Indian Healthcare Leaders,” organized by JSS AHER EDGE (Executive Development for Growth & Excellence).

The certificate distribution ceremony was held on August 18, 2026, at the Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru.

ORAL HYGIENE DAY 2026 🦷✨

The Department of Periodontology, JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru, celebrated Oral Hygiene Day on 1 August 2026 with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of good oral hygiene and its close connection with overall systemic health.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Dhakshaini, Principal, and Dr. Jaishankar, Vice Principal, along with faculty members, postgraduate students and staff of the Department of Periodontology by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

🪥 Highlights of the programme:
• Demonstration of proper brushing and flossing techniques
• Display and distribution of oral hygiene aids
• Awareness among patients on preventive dental care
• Special talk on “The Interrelationship Between Oral Health and Systemic Health” by Dr. Pratibha S., Reader, Department of Periodontology

The session highlighted that good oral hygiene is an essential part of overall well-being and that preventive dental care plays a vital role in maintaining both oral and general health.

Rapid Recap 2026: Three Days of Academic Excellence!

The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, JSS Dental College & Hospital, in association with ACE-K, successfully organized Rapid Recap 2026, a three-day examination-oriented revision programme for Final Year MDS students from 5–7 August 2026.

The programme brought together 138 delegates from 31 dental colleges across Karnataka, providing focused academic sessions, practical discussions, revision lectures, quizzes, and expert guidance to help students prepare for their university examinations.

The inaugural ceremony featured the digital launch of "Quick Glimpse", a compilation of revision posters, and "Timelapse", a timeline of landmark studies in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics.

With distinguished speakers, interactive learning, and enthusiastic participation, Rapid Recap 2026 concluded successfully, reinforcing JSS Dental College & Hospital's commitment to academic excellence and postgraduate education.

Financial Literacy & Financial Fraud Awareness Session

💡 Empowering Students with Financial Awareness!

JSS Dental College & Hospital, a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, organized an Online Awareness Session on “Financial Literacy and Financial Fraud” on 7 August 2026 for interns and postgraduate students.

The session was graced by Dr. Dhakshaini M. R., Principal, Dr. Jaishankar H. P., Vice Principal, and Mr. Aniket Mohite, Senior Business Development Manager, Pagdandi Edusol Pvt. Ltd.

👥 34 interns and postgraduate students participated actively and gained valuable insights into responsible financial management and digital financial safety.

The programme was highly informative and interactive, reinforcing financial literacy and fraud awareness as essential life skills in today’s digital world.
