Another weekend, another special little one! We are so happy we could successfully and SMILINGLY completed full mouth dental treatment! And most importantly, we were able to accommodate the parents wishes of completing the treatment in just 5 visits!! This could not have been possible without the use of happy gas !! (Nitrous oxide conscious sedation) and we are so so happy with the results. Thanks to the parents who listened to our advice of how to prepare the child for the dental treatment, and graciously consented to the use of happy gas for him. The smile speaks for itself! 😁

Revealing what treatment he underwent would be professionally unethical on our part. But you can swipe and see the feedback review left on our google profile by the parent.

Happy patient at Little Molar. We completed full mouth dental treatment for this 6 year old cutie in just 5 visits by using nitrous oxide (happy gas). Swipe to read the parents honest review.

Whenever a young child requires a full mouth dental treatment, there are usually two options. One is a slower but completely risk free option of using nitrous oxide conscious sedation (laughing gas) and the other is treating in a single day under general anesthesia. We usually keep the general anesthesia as a LAST option when all other methods have failed. I am so happy that we could complete your daughters entire mouth treatment in just 5 visits under happy gas sedation with zero side effects!

Nitrous oxide works best on patients who are fearful of the dental treatment but they are able to understand the dentists instructions and are willing to try on the nose mask. Once they are anxiety-free, then we can comfortably give them injections without them ever eve realizing what happened. Usually children are most afraid only of injections. Once we get through with that step, then rest of treatment is a breeze. Nitrous oxide is such a boon to a child who, otherwise, would have been directed to treatment under general anesthesia.

What's wrong with these pics?

Absolutely nothing!!!

The best way to minimize damage from chocolates and other sweets and not banning them ..is to have them at meal time and NOT as snacks in between.

When taken along with a meal, not only is the tooth saved from another acid challenge, but chewing of the hard roti and sabzi will reduce the stickiness of the chocolate too!

For more tips on how to include sweets and chocolat s in your child's diet, feel free to DM us.

Hi there!

The main reason Children fear going to the dentist is because of the ā€œPainfulā€ injection. However, in this video, we demonstrate that with the use of topical anesthetic gel, audio-visual distractions and good injection technique, the child an be unaware of receiving the injection and have a happy successful dental visit.

The video is in the native language of the child. Speaking in a language the child is most comfortable with elicits the best response and cooperation from the child. The description is given below.

There are three main ways we reduce the discomfort of injection to the child.

1. Use of topical anesthetic gel. We massage the gel for 1-2 minutes. This helps soften the prick of the injection.

2. Block the child’s view and give the injection in such a way that he never sees it at any point in his entire visit. We achieve this by Readying the shot behind the child’s back, blocking his view with our hand during the injection process and we love using our Ceiling TV as the ultimate distraction.

3. A good injection technique. We very slowly inject the area, often taking 1 whole minute for the step. We have found that Slow injecting can drastically reduce the discomfort of the child.

Finally, we wait for at least 5 minutes before starting any procedure to make the sure the anesthetic is at its peak action and complete numbness is in effect.

With children, we never get a second chance to gain his trust. Therefore, we have to make sure we are achieving painless anesthesia in the first go. A painless, tear-free dental visit makes one happy customer, one happy child!

Bonus tip for Parents: Substitue the word "Injection" with "Sleepy medicine".

In milk teeth, there are two main materials which are used for fillings.

1. Glass inomers/Gic : Used widely in milk teeth, they have a distinct advantage of anti-cavity action. They bond chemically to the tooth structure and help deposit fluoride ions in the tooth, making the tooth enamel more resistant to decay.

2. Resin Composite: They too have gained favour in milk teeth because of their excellent tooth-mimicking esthetics, high resistance to wear & fracture and the lasting durability.

Swipe to know the more technical differences between the two materials and ask your pediatric dentist, which is the more suitable filling material for your child.

What do we do at the First dental visit of a 5year old!

We employ the Tell-Play (show) )-Do method!

Watc the the 2minute video to find out. Description below:

Here, we let the child play with the "Air-Spray" and "Water-spray".

Then we introduce the dental drill to the child as a "MotorBike", something which makes the sound vroom vroom, has light and also has an extra water-spray!

Finally, we introduce him to the Magic Straw which sips away all the water from the cup and later in his mouth too!

After being told and shown the steps, we start performing the same steps in his mouth. at first, we use the drill for only 3 seconds. The we ask the child if he is comfortable to proceed to 5 seconds and gradually increase the mouth opening time!

Once the drilling work is over, we proceed with the filling part, again with tell-show-do method. We first introduce him to the "Paintbrush" which is actually the instrument used for filling. then we show him the "Glue" or the bonding agent which helps stick the filling material to the tooth. Finally we show him the "White Play-dough" which is the white tooth filling material called composite.

After the child has been told and shown the steps, we switch on the ceiling TV! The child relaxes and is engrossed in watching his favorite show - Peppa Pig and we complete filling the tooth!

Happy dental treatment, Happy Child!!

Welcome to Digital Pediatric Dentistry!!

Once a milk tooth has undergone root canal treatment, it is advisable to cover it with a dental crown for strength and protection. In milk teeth, there are two types of crowns most commonly used: one made of stainless steel and other of white tooth colored material called Zirconia.

Here, we digitally scanned the child's teeth, printed the teeth models and made custom zirconia crowns for her. This offers unmatchable aesthetics, superior strength and great gingival healing due to its passive but accurate fit. And all this is done, while the child is happily watching the ceiling tv and we are rendering the dental treatment .....Tears-Free.

We thank the parents who permitted us to post these pictures on social media.
