Cavities are permanently damaged areas in the hard surface of your teeth that develop into tiny openings or holes. Cavities, also called tooth decay or caries, are caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks and not cleaning your teeth well.

Cavities and tooth decay are among the world's most common health problems.
But only 1 in 10 indians agree that routine dental visits are critical to there overall well being !

If cavities aren't treated, they get larger and affect deeper layers of your teeth. They can lead to a severe toothache, infection and tooth loss. Regular dental visits and good brushing and flossing habits are your best protection against cavities and tooth decay.

80% delay dental care and end up paying more money which could have been avoided if they had earlier not ignored the sign and symptoms of the teeth

So guys dentistry is not expensive neglect is !!! So dont neglect it and get period check ups done !!!

What is plaque?
Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that constantly forms on teeth. Bacteria in plaque produce acids after you eat or drink. These acids can destroy tooth enamel and cause cavities and gingivitis (gum disease). Plaque can also develop under the gums on tooth roots and break down the bones that support teeth. Untreated plaque can harden into tough-to-remove tartar.

What are the symptoms of plaque?
it includes :
bad breath (halitosis) .
Red, swollen gums that bleed after brushing ( gum disease ).
What are the complications of plaque?
If you don’t brush and floss daily, plaque can harden into tartar. Only a dental professional can remove tartar.

Plaque and tartar can lead to:
Cavities .
Gingivitis and periodontal (gum) disease.
Severe gum infection ( periodontitis ).
Tooth decay and loss. Tooth infection ( abscessed tooth ).
