It takes around 6 months for any new dental cavities or gum disease to progress and show up in X-rays. At the same time, timely cleaning of teeth prevents new cavities and gingivitis.
So we advise patients to come in once in 6 months, unless otherwise specified by the dentist. For high risk patients, the frequency of dental visits may be increased to once in 3-4 months.
