🛑 Is it just "Monday Blues" or is your mind trying to tell you something?
Body: We all struggle to get out of bed sometimes. The transition from Sunday rest to Monday work can be tough. But as a psychiatrist, I often see patients who dismiss serious symptoms as just "being lazy" or having "the blues."
Here is how to tell if it’s more than just a bad mood:
1️⃣ It doesn't end on Monday. Normal blues fade by Tuesday morning. If that heavy feeling follows you throughout the week, pay attention.
2️⃣ Physical Symptoms. Are you waking up with a racing heart, a stomach ache, or a headache just thinking about work or school? Your body reacts to anxiety before your mind admits it.
3️⃣ Loss of Interest. It’s not just that you don't want to work—it's that you don't want to do anything (even hobbies you usually love).
4️⃣ Disrupted Sleep. Either you can't sleep at all on Sunday night, or you want to sleep 12+ hours to escape the day.
👨⚕️ Doctor’s Advice: You don't have to "tough it out." If you’ve felt this way for more than two weeks, let’s talk. Mental health is just as treatable as physical health.
