A patient presented with a painless swelling on the palate. Clinical examination, radiographic evaluation, and FNAC were consistent with the diagnosis of a radicular cyst.

A palatal flap was raised, followed by complete enucleation of the cyst. The nasal floor was carefully inspected using an endoscope to ensure complete removal of the lesion. Primary wound closure was then achieved.

The patient had an uneventful postoperative recovery. Complete surgical enucleation with careful assessment of adjacent anatomical structures helps minimize recurrence and promotes predictable healing.

arthroscopy This is an intracapsular arthroscopic view of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). The image demonstrates chondromalacia—early degeneration and softening of the articular cartilage. Such subtle cartilage changes are often not detectable on routine TMJ MRI but can be visualized directly during TMJ arthroscopy, allowing accurate diagnosis and targeted minimally invasive treatment.

TMJ Ankylosis – From No Mouth Opening to 40 mm!

This patient had TMJ ankylosis, a condition where the jaw joint becomes fused, resulting in no mouth opening and making eating, speaking, and maintaining oral hygiene extremely difficult.

An interpositional gap arthroplasty was performed, successfully restoring 40 mm of mouth opening.

The patient can now eat comfortably, speak normally, maintain better oral hygiene, and enjoy a healthier, improved quality of life.

Early diagnosis and expert surgical treatment can be life-changing for patients with TMJ ankylosis.

આ દર્દીને TMJ એન્કાયલોસિસ (જડબાના સાંધાનું જામી જવું) હતું. આ સ્થિતિમાં જડબાનું સાંધું એકબીજા સાથે ચોંટી જાય છે, જેના કારણે મોઢું બિલકુલ ખુલતું નથી. પરિણામે ખાવા, બોલવા અને મોઢાની યોગ્ય સ્વચ્છતા જાળવવી ખૂબ જ મુશ્કેલ બની જાય છે.

Interpositional Gap Arthroplasty સર્જરી દ્વારા સફળતાપૂર્વક સારવાર કરવામાં આવી અને દર્દીમાં 40 મીમી સુધી મોઢું ખુલવાનું પ્રાપ્ત થયું.

હવે દર્દી આરામથી ખાઈ શકે છે, સામાન્ય રીતે બોલી શકે છે, મોઢાની સારી સ્વચ્છતા જાળવી શકે છે અને વધુ સ્વસ્થ તથા ગુણવત્તાસભર જીવન જીવી શકે છે.

Geriatric unilateral condylar fractures in an edentulous patient were managed using temporary intermaxillary fixation with miniplates and screws. દર્દીને માર્ગ અકસ્માતમાં નીચલા જડબાનું ગંભીર ફ્રેક્ચર થયું હતું અને સાથે અનેક દાંત તૂટી ગયા હતા તથા કેટલાક દાંત ગુમાવ્યા હતા. જડબાનું ઓપરેશન કરીને ટાઇટેનિયમ મિનિપ્લેટ અને સ્ક્રૂ (ORIF) વડે ફ્રેક્ચરને સ્થિર કરવામાં આવ્યું. 3 મહિના પછી હાડકું સંપૂર્ણપણે જોડાઈ ગયા બાદ ડેન્ટલ ઇમ્પ્લાન્ટ મૂકવામાં આવ્યા અને ત્યારબાદ સ્થાયી દાંત લગાવી પુનઃસ્થાપન કરવામાં આવ્યું. આજે દર્દી ફરીથી આરામથી ચાવી શકે છે, સ્પષ્ટ રીતે બોલી શકે છે અને આત્મવિશ્વાસ સાથે સ્મિત કરી શકે છે.

દર્દીના ઉપરના જડબામાં હાડકું ઓછુ હોવાથી સામાન્ય ચોકઠું (ડેન્ટર) સારી રીતે બેસતું નહોતું અને પહેરવામાં અસુવિધા થતી હતી. હાડકું પૂરતું ન હોવાથી સામાન્ય ડેન્ટલ ઇમ્પ્લાન્ટ મૂકવા શક્ય નહોતા. તેથી ગાલના મજબૂત હાડકામાં ઝાયગોમેટિક ઇમ્પ્લાન્ટ મૂકવામાં આવ્યા. આ ઇમ્પ્લાન્ટની મદદથી કાયમી દાંત લગાવવામાં આવ્યા, જેથી દર્દી હવે આરામથી ખાઈ શકે છે, સ્પષ્ટ રીતે બોલી શકે છે અને આત્મવિશ્વાસ સાથે સ્મિત કરી શકે છે. The patient had severe bone loss in the upper jaw, making it difficult to wear removable dentures because they were loose and uncomfortable. Due to the lack of sufficient bone, regular dental implants could not be placed. To overcome this problem, special zygomatic implants, which are anchored in the strong cheekbone, were used. These implants provided a stable foundation for fixed replacement teeth, allowing the patient to chew comfortably, speak clearly, and smile with confidence.
