On the occasion of “International nurses Day” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale and to mark the Nurse’s contribution towards people’s health. The SKSS College of nursing, Sarabha, Ludhiana has organized “International Nurse’s Day” under the theme “Nurses a voice to lead- Invest in Nursing and Respect Rights to Secure Global Health” on 14th May'2022 under the supervision of our worthy principal Dr. Prabhjot Saini.
After Shabad Kirtan and Lamp Lightening ceremony, the guests were welcomed by Dr. Prabhjot Saini, Principal , SKSS CON Sarabha. The event was graced by Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur Gill Patron TNAI (Punjab State)and Former Principal of SKSS College of nursing, Sarabha as a chief guest, Mrs. Bhupinder Kaur Matron, Civil Hospital ,as a guest of honour, Mrs. Paramjeet kaur Pandher Chairman, SKSS CON and other trust members. Ms. Neeta Thakur, Asst. prof discussed about history of Florence nightingale: “The Lady with Lamp”.
Various cultural activities like Welcome Dance, Choreography on “Nurses role in COVID 19 as frontline warriors” were performed by the students. The Oath-taking ceremony was performed for B.Sc. Nursing and GNM 1st year students where students swore a pledge to practice their profession by maintaining their dignity and provide their services to their clients. The students were facilitated for their academic performance 2021 and elected candidates for SNA Ms. Mehakpreet Kaur as Vice President, Ms. Monika as Secretary, Ms Noorpreet as Treasurer were awarded .Various competitions will also be conducted amongst students. Students of GNM 1st yr got 1st prize for Best classroom and Ms. Navjot and Ms. Simarjeet Kaur from room no 56 got 1st prize Best hostel room. The students from various batches were also recognised for their exemplary work in clinical areas .Mr. Tarun Bali (M.Sc. N 2nd yr) ,Ms. Swati Diwakar (B.Sc. N 4th yr.) ,Ms. Prabhjot kaur (P.B. B.Sc. 2nd yr), Ms. Simran Kaur(GNM), Ms. Mandeep Kaur (ANM) were received best student award. Students were also awarded as Best Community health nurse Ms. Ramandeep Kaur ((P.B. B.Sc. 2nd yr), Ms. Heena Rakhwal (M.Sc. N 2nd yr) with Best OBG nurse.
Ms. Keshni (Asst. Prof.), Ms Shweta , Ms. Rubalpreet Kaur and Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur were awarded with Best Teacher Award. The event was highly appreciated by the Guest and trusty members.
