A joint representation comprising of Doctors, Interns, PGTs, faculties and Students of NMO West Bengal from different Medical Colleges, Hospitals met the honourable Governor of West Bengal at Raj Bhavan and apprised his excellency about the recent ghastly incident of R G Kar Medical College and Hospital, where a female Academic JR was Brutally R***d and Murdered while on duty inside the hospital premises and Hospital Authorities are Bent on a cover up.
We enlightened him with various Mental Tortures done on protesting doctors.
This incident may happen to any girl or woman in their workplace in West Bengal.
We demanded-
01. Immediate Deployment of Central Security Forces in the Medical Colleges & Hospital and Medical Institutes of West Bengal.
02. The Physical inspection by NMC officials at RG KAR medical college on the line of visit by
Governor West Bengal as college in under purview of NMC.
03. The NMC is requested to take all corrective actions to ensure safe working place at RG KAR Medical College ensuring smooth functioning of the Medical College.
04. CBI investigations & immediate punishments of the persons involved in recent incident of vandalization of RG Kar Medical College.
05. Bringing back the Students to RG Kar Medical College and providing security.
06. CBI team also ensures security at RG Kar Medical College and issues daily public updates on the security issue.
07. The Central Protection Act for Doctors should come into ex*****on immediately by the Government of India.
His excellency assured us that he will take all the necessary actions.
Honourable Governor sir will talk to Union Health Minister Shri J.P Nadda regarding Central Protection Act for Doctors.
After hearing entire incidence,
Honourable governor opened the
Access to Raj Bhavan’s Guest House for doctors & students who have been threatened and those who feel insecure.
