⏩Re-root canal treatment, is a procedure performed when initial root canal therapy fails, involving removing old filling materials, cleaning and shaping the canals, and then refilling them to address persistent infection or inflammation.
⏩Patient (aged 28) reported with severe pain and swelling around the treated tooth, where the radiograph showed periapical radiolucency around the distal root of lower first molar.
⏩Re-treatment was carried out with cleaning and irrigation of the canals , followed by obturation, resulting in drastic deducting of pain and swelling.
⏩Radiograph taken 6 months post obturation showed signs of periapical healing.
