CASE OF THE WEEK | 10 Implants.
One Challenging Atrophic Jaw. One New Smile.
A highly atrophic maxilla and mandible requiring full-mouth implant rehabilitation.
After being told that implant-supported rehabilitation was not possible, the patient was determined to find another solution.
With detailed CBCT-based virtual planning, we planned 5 implants in the maxilla and 5 in the mandible, adapting implant angulation to the available anatomy.
🔹 Maxilla: 5 strategically positioned implants — 2 anteriorly tilted implants, 1 implant placed through the nasopalatine canal region and positioned labially toward the anterior nasal spine, and 2 posteriorly positioned tilted implants placed palatal to and bypassing the nasopalatine canal implant.
🔹 Mandible: 5 implants with side-specific angulation based on the position of the mental foramina.
🔹 10 implants successfully placed
🔹 Immediate rehabilitation completed within one week
The best part of the case?
The patient’s smile when he saw his new teeth.
Challenging anatomy demands careful planning, anatomical understanding and precise ex*****on.
