“But doctor, if the nerve is removed… why does my tooth still hurt?” 🤔🦷
One of the most common questions after a root canal — and a very valid one.

A root-canal-treated tooth can still feel tender because the tissues surrounding the root are very much alive and may remain inflamed for a while after treatment.
Mild soreness for a few days can be normal. But severe pain, swelling, or pain that keeps getting worse deserves a dental check-up.

So no — pain after an RCT doesn’t automatically mean your root canal has failed. ✨
