Aarsh: Ma, my teacher said enamel is as strong as bone. Then why do teeth get cavities so easily?
Me: Very good question, Aarsh! Yes, enamel is very strong. It helps you chew hard food like apples and nuts.
Aarsh: Then why does it get damaged?
Me: Enamel is strong, but it is like glass — strong but it cannot repair itself once it breaks.
Aarsh: Oh! What breaks it?
Me: When you eat sweets, chocolates, chips or drink milk shakes, tiny germs in your mouth make acid. That acid slowly makes small holes in the enamel.
Aarsh: That means cavities?
Me: Yes! Those small holes are called cavities.
Aarsh: Can the tooth heal like bones?
Me: No, bones can heal themselves, but enamel cannot. That’s why we must protect our teeth.
Aarsh: How can I protect them?
Me: Brush and floss twice daily, rinse your mouth after eating sweets, drink water, and visit the dentist regularly.
Aarsh: Okay ma! I’ll take care of my teeth 😁

35-year-old patient came with a front tooth gap and forwardly placed anteriors with mild crowding
We started with a frenectomy and Invisalign treatment to align and close the space.
Due to inconsistent aligner wear, a slight gap persisted — so we completed the smile with veneers on the upper centrals 😁

Patient loved the result 💕

We protected the milk teeth with new caps so they can hold their place until the permanent teeth are ready to erupt 🌟

Why so important? 🦷
👉 Early loss of milk teeth can misguide permanent ones, leading to crooked alignment later.
