Taking a cue from the Grandmaster Oogway, we present a few of the dental problems people believe to habe occured by accident.
Firstly no major dental problems happen by accident (unless it is a major fracture case caused due to a Road Traffic Accident)
1. Cavities- They occur due intake of foods with high sugar content (especially when you don't brush immediately after)
2. Calculus and Bad Breath- Barring Smoking and chewing to***co, Calculus and Bad breath are also caused by improper brushing habits like skipping brushing (or maybe no brushing at all)
3. Tooth Pain- It is usually caused due to neglect. As most of the people with tooth pain have a cavity in close proximity with the pulp of the tooth(the area supplying the tooth with all the nerves and blood vessels). Or it is due to trauma due to malocclusion(improper alignment of teeth).

So it is recommended that you visit your dentist every 6 months
Happy Smiles :)

As the Holy Month of Ramadan is approaching, we have a few tips for our Muslim patients and friends.
1. Brushing twice daily- We cannot stress any less as to how important it is to helping maintain your oral hygiene (we know you already heard that a lot ;) )
2. Drinking lots of water during Sehar and Iftar- Apart from refreshing your oral cavity, it also helps re-hydrating after breaking the fast.
3. Eat lots of fruits- Although we all love the Haleem and the fried delicacies that are the speciality of Ramadan, balancing them with an equal quantity of fruits not only reduces the chances of cholestrol formation, but also keeps the mouth fresh
4.Avoid smoking immediately after Iftar- Although we sincerely would love it if you had quit the habit altogether, we highly recommend that you avoid smoking immediately after Iftaar as it leaves a bad smell
5. Avoid Sticky foods during Sehar or Dinner- Especially if you intend to sleep without brushing your teeth, as the foods may become a source for the formation of cavities

BONUS TIP
During the fast, usage of the Miswaak is a lot beneficial (also it's a Sunnah)

Toothbrush bristles get worn out after 3 months, when this happens, they dont clean the teeth well.
If you don't change your toothbrush after catching a cold, the bacteria in the bristles can reinfect you and make you sick (yet again)

Good Evening to everyone,,,,
Many people may find it funny but, a lot of patients that we see are quite confident that they don't have any dental problems. But when it comes to actually checking the oral status, we find hidden cavities, decayed teeth, calculus and debris on the tooth (basically a lot of problems).
To make things worse, the patient sometimes does not want to admit to the existence of the problems. (the rare few to be honest)
And then there are those beautiful patients who understand their oral condition and are proactive in getting their treatments done.(Many dentists would not admit to this, but yes we love such patients who are proactive and are concerned about their oral health).
Looking forward to meet many more such patients (And I mean you.;p)
Have a great day ahead.
Bye.....smile emoticon
