Simple moment led to a complex dental need.

A patient walked in with a fractured premolar—an already root canal–treated tooth that had given way while trying to tear open a plastic cover. What seemed like a minor incident had rendered the tooth non-restorable, with a vertical fracture extending below the gum line.

At the School of Dental Implants, this became a classic case for immediate implant placement—where precision, planning, and ex*****on come together.

Step 1:
Clinical and Radiographic Assessment
A thorough evaluation confirmed the fracture pattern and ruled out any possibility of saving the tooth. Bone levels and surrounding structures were assessed to plan immediate implant placement.
Step 2:
Atraumatic Extraction
The fractured premolar was carefully removed using minimally invasive techniques, preserving the surrounding bone and soft tissue architecture—critical for implant success.
Step 3:
Site Preparation
The socket was gently debrided and prepared. Sequential drilling was carried out to achieve optimal angulation and depth, ensuring primary stability for the implant.
Step 4:
Immediate Implant Placement
An implant was placed directly into the extraction socket, engaging the apical bone for strong primary stability—one of the key determinants of success in immediate loading protocols.
Step 5:
Gap Management and Soft Tissue Care
Any residual gaps between the implant and socket walls were managed with graft material where needed, promoting better osseointegration and tissue contour.
Step 6:
Temporary Restoration (if applicable)
Depending on stability, a provisional crown may be placed to maintain aesthetics and function while the implant integrates.

What started as an unfortunate fracture became an opportunity to restore function immediately—with reduced treatment time, preserved bone, and enhanced patient comfort.
This is the power of modern implantology—turning emergencies into efficient, predictable outcomes

Rebuilding Smiles with Science & Precision 🦷

A complex yet rewarding implant case at the School of Dental Implants ✨
A young patient reported with severe bone loss in the upper right lateral incisor region following trauma. The missing tooth was replaced with a dental implant, followed by a meticulously planned Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) procedure.

🔬 Why membrane stabilization is critical in GBR:
In this case, predictability depended on absolute membrane stability:
The GBR membrane was secured using bone tags
A palatal stabilizing suture was placed to prevent micromovement
Membrane stabilization is a non-negotiable step in GBR. It ensures space maintenance, prevents membrane collapse, and allows undisturbed bone regeneration—especially crucial in trauma-induced defects.

🦴 Clinical relevance:
Trauma-related bone loss in young patients demands precision, biological respect, and advanced surgical protocols to achieve long-term implant success and optimal aesthetics.
This case reflects the evidence-based implantology and advanced surgical principles taught and practiced at the School of Dental Implants.

Shaping the Perfect Emergence Profile with Customized Healing Abutments

When an implant is immediately placed after a molar extraction, preserving and sculpting the soft tissue becomes crucial for the final success of the restoration.
At the School of Dental Implants, we use customized healing abutments to guide the tissue healing right from Day 1.

🦷 Why Customized Healing Abutments?
• They create a natural emergence profile, especially important in wide molar extraction sites
• Help maintain proper gingival contour and prevent tissue collapse
• Reduce the need for multiple soft-tissue modifications
• Enhance final prosthetic aesthetics and function
• Lead to faster and more predictable outcomes

In this case, an immediate extraction implant was placed for a single molar, followed by a customized healing abutment. This ensured that the tissue healed in harmony with the ideal shape of the future crown — delivering long-lasting aesthetics, stability, and comfort.

Complex Odontome Removal with Block Graft

✨ A young girl presented with a complex odontome that had led to impaction of the lateral incisor and canine.
🦷 Both impacted teeth, along with the odontome, were carefully removed.

To restore the defect:
🔹 A Bio-Oss block graft was adapted to fill the bony void.
🔹 Bio-Oss Collagen was used to reinforce the graft and provide additional stability.
🔹 The site was covered with a Bio-Gide membrane, meticulously tacked to form a secure “sausage technique” closure for optimal regeneration.

This advanced regenerative protocol ensures:
✅ Stable bone volume
✅ Predictable healing
✅ A solid foundation for future implant-supported rehabilitation

🔍 Case Report Highlight – Lateral Nerve Transpositioning

Honored to have my case report published in Guidant, showcasing a challenging yet rewarding surgical approach in implant dentistry.
➡️ Lateral nerve transpositioning allows implant placement in the atrophic posterior mandible where conventional options are limited. This technique ensures optimal function, prosthetic rehabilitation, and long-term success.
