A gingivectomy is a surgical procedure that removes excess gum tissue. It can be performed to treat gum disease or improve the appearance of teeth.
It is performed by giving a local anesthetic which is used to numb the gums and after that a surgical tool is used to remove excess gum tissue,A suction tool is used to remove excess saliva and blood. The remaining gums are reattached by stitching and the gum line is reshaped. The affected area is cleaned with saline and special rinses.
Risks and recovery :
Minor pain and discomfort after the procedure,
You can usually drive yourself home after the procedure, usually after 2 to 3 weeks it heals completely, this case was done by me before and after comparison after 2 weeks 👇🏻👇🏻
