Not every wisdom tooth needs to be removed.
If it’s healthy, properly positioned and not causing any problems, you may simply keep an eye on it.
But removal may be recommended if the wisdom tooth is:
• Damaging the tooth next to it
• Causing repeated swelling or gum infections
• Making it difficult or painful to chew
• Impacted or growing in the wrong direction
• Causing recurring pain or discomfort
So, getting your wisdom teeth removed isn't a rule. It depends on what your wisdom tooth is doing.
