What happens when a tooth is removed and not replaced:
1. Upper and adjacent teeth move from their natural position to occupy the gap created,leading to unnatural gaps leading to food deposits and decayed teeth
2. Joint of the jaw is weakened due to lack of chewing from one side and abnormal way of tooth contact.
3. Because of the space created by the missing tooth/teeth all other teeth in the jaw are free to move and generalised spacing is observed even in front teeth.

SOLUTION: Make tooth replacement the ultimate goal of tooth extraction, and do not believe extraction to be the end of treatment, as it might give you relief for the time being but in the long run it is sure to give rise to complications.
