Today, we’re going to talk about 5 things you will absolutely NOT find in a dentist’s home.

First – HARD TOOTHBRUSHES
The idea that harder brushing means cleaner teeth simply does not exist in a dentist’s home. We always prefer soft or extra-soft toothbrushes and recommend the same to our patients because hard brushing can wear down the teeth and damage the enamel.

Second – TOOTHPICKS to remove food stuck between teeth
Toothpicks are quite hard and can cause trauma to the gums, leading to irreversible damage. They can create more space between the gums and teeth, which actually causes more food to get stuck. Instead, we always recommend floss or interdental brushes.

Third – CHARCOAL OR ABRASIVE TOOTHPASTES
These can harm the enamel, which is the protective outer layer of your teeth.

Fourth – TEETH POWDERS OR DANT MANJANS
These are highly abrasive and can wear down the teeth, cause micro-cuts, make the teeth thinner, and lead to lifelong sensitivity.

Fifth – RANDOM WHITENING STRIPS OR DIY HOUSEHOLD HACK KITS
Unsupervised whitening or bleaching can cause severe tooth sensitivity and long-term damage.

If dentists avoid these things, you should too.
