Safe Dental Laser Treatment During Pregnancy | Rohini Sector 3

Pregnancy can bring unexpected changes to the gums, including pregnancy-related gingival growths such as pyogenic granuloma. At Dr. Agarwal’s Multispeciality Dental Clinic & Implant Centre, Rohini Sector 3, we provide careful, individualized dental care for pregnant patients, including evaluation and management of gum swellings when clinically indicated.

Recently, a patient in her 9th month of pregnancy visited our clinic with a large gingival growth measuring approximately 4 × 3 cm. After detailed clinical evaluation, the lesion was managed with appropriate laser-assisted excision, with the specimen sent for histopathological examination (biopsy) for diagnostic confirmation.

Dental treatment can be provided during pregnancy when medically indicated; current ADA guidance states that diagnostic, preventive, restorative and surgical dental care can be performed during pregnancy, with treatment planning tailored to the individual patient and coordination with the obstetrician when appropriate.

Bite firmly on the gauze for 30–45 minutes.
Avoid spitting, rinsing, smoking, and straws for 24 hours.
