🦷 Delayed Tooth Eruption — Should You Be Worried?

Every child develops at their own pace, so a small variation in tooth eruption can be normal. However, delayed eruption may sometimes be related to factors such as genetics, lack of space in the jaw, retained baby teeth, or nutritional factors including Vitamin D.

If one tooth has erupted but the matching tooth on the opposite side hasn’t erupted for more than 6 months, it’s a good time to have your child evaluated by a pediatric dentist. A simple evaluation can help identify what may be causing the delay and whether any treatment is needed.
