Dental Treatment camp was conducted by Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram along with Mr. Sagayam, Founder of Udhavum Ullam on 27/05/2023, Saturday at Amanjikarai. Oral health care services were provided to the 47 mentally challenged people and 5 caretakers. As the oral disease burden among them was high, minor dental procedures and preventive treatment such as Ultrasonic Scaling, GIC restoration, Atraumatic Restorative Treatment, Preventive Resin Restoration and Fluoride application were carried out using Mobile Dental Unit at the camp site. Participants who were uncooperative and those requiring high end procedures were referred to SRM Dental College, Ramapuram. In conclusion, 5 Ultrasonic Scaling, 3 GIC restoration, 1 Atraumatic Restorative Treatment, 3 Preventive Resin Restoration, 2 Fluoride application and 1 coronoplasty were done among 12 beneficiaries. We were glad that we could reach out to those people who are in need and treat them. Brushing techniques and Oral hygiene practices were instructed to their care takers. We clarified all the doubts raised by them. We would like to thank our Honourable Chairman Sir and Respected Dean Sir, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram for supporting this social initiative.
