Indian Society of Dental Traumatology organised its first National Sports Dentistry Symposium on 4th October 2025 at the AIIMS,New Delhi. Commendable efforts by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, CDER AIIMS New Delhi let by Dr. Ajay Logani, Dr. Amrita Chawla, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Sidhartha Sharma, Dr. Vishal, Dr. Akshat Sachdeva and the team. The head office was represented by Dr. Steven Rodrigues, Interim President, ISDT, Dr. Nitesh Tewari General Secretary, Dr. Dhanraj K, and Dr. Rahul Morankar. We had speakers from Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, and Sports Dentistry. Dr. Peter Fine from University college London lectured online on changing roles of sports dentist, Dr. Ajay Logani provided overview of Sports Dentistry in India, and Dr. Balaji K talked about mouthguards and prevention of dental injuries.
The symposia had participation of around 100 dentists from clinical practices and institutions across India and they enthusiastically participated in interactions and the hands on workshops on Splinting of teeth Conducted by Dr. Amrita and Dr. Sidharth and fabrication of mouth guards by Dr. Ravindra Puppala and Dr. Balaji K. Gratitude to all who attended and organised. We shall come back with a larger symposium soon.
