A root canal removes infection and helps preserve the tooth—but the tooth still needs the right restoration to function safely.
Some teeth may require a crown, while others may be restored differently depending on the location of the tooth, the amount of remaining structure and the forces it receives while chewing.
This is why restoration planning after root canal treatment should be individualised.
Have you ever been advised to get a crown after a root canal and wondered why? Ask me in the comments.
