๐Therapeutic ultrasound may be used as an adjunct to exercise and other physiotherapy techniques to:
๐Reduce pain and muscle spasm in some conditions
๐Improve soft-tissue flexibility and joint mobility, particularly before stretching
๐Assist management of certain tendon, ligament, and soft-tissue problems
๐Potentially support tissue healing in selected conditions
๐Provide temporary symptom relief in some musculoskeletal disorders
๐Example: For a stiff shoulder, ultrasound may be used to warm the tissues before stretching and exercise, but the exercise program is usually the key component of rehabilitation.๐
