Are all implants are the same..let's see

This IOPa shows two different implant philosophies at work:
On the left: longer, tapered implants designed for crestal placement. On the right: shorter, wider implants designed for subcrestal placement.

Both systems use platform shifting, but the sound knowledge of science and philosophy behind each implant system matters more than just drilling and placing.

The philosophy:

Crestal implants → rely on length & thread design to achieve stability and distribute forces.

Subcrestal implants are designed to sit slightly below the bone crest, enhancing bone preservation and soft tissue stability.

Not all implant systems are supposed to be placed subcrestally.

Choosing the right implant isn’t about “one size fits all” — it’s about understanding the biomechanics, bone anatomy, and prosthetic needs of every case.

Digital dentistry and AI is really changing the face of dentistry far too quickly. A small example here..just look how efficiently the AI just took less than 5 second to match the scan body with the scan body library in the Medit. You just need to select the scan body you are using, assign it to the tooth number you are using for and the AI matches in just 5 seconds.The moment the color coding appears the job is done.
Still there is a learning curve..
