Why do your teeth hurt when you eat or drink?🥺
ENAMEL EROSION
Over time the protective outer layer of enamel can wear down, often due to acidic food, hard excessive brushing or teeth grinding, leading to exposed inner layer of tooth causing sensitivity
TOOTH DECAY
Tooth decay or cavities compromised the tooth structure, exposing nerve endings which results in sensitivity
GUM RECESSION
When gums recede, either due to poor oral hygiene or ageing, the roots of the teeth which are not covered by enamel can become exposed, leading to sensitivity
CRACKED TOOTH
A cracked tooth also expose the inner layer of the teeth resulting in pain and discomfort
SINUS ISSUES
In some cases, sinus infections or congestion can cause tooth pain, particularly in the upper teeth, which are close to the sinus cavities
To prevent or manage sensitivity, maintaining good oral hygiene, avoiding acidic foods, using soft bristled toothbrush, and visiting your dentist regularly can help.
If sensitivity persists, a dentist can recommend dental procedures to address the underlying cause.
