Last week our President Dr Bhagwandas Rai, Vice President Dr Shaji Thomas and myself were invited to attend an online meeting with the Ministry of Health and family welfare to stratergize on To***co cessation program in our Country. I raised the issue of our Sportsmen and Film actors endorsing to***co products in the media and requested the Health Ministry to take suitable action to curb this matter.

We are impressed and congratulate the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India under the dynamic leadership of Professor Dr Atul Goel Ji on the swift action taken immediately after the meeting last week issuing a directive to both BCCI and Sports Authority of India asking our Sports heroes and heroines not to endorse any to***co products.

This immediate action speaks very loudly the seriousness of our Government especially the the Director General of Health Services to prevent and curb the ravages of cancer in our great Nation.

Kudos to the entire team and let's all join hands in this Nation wide movement of National To***co control program and prevention of cancer...
