Sometimes, removing the whole wisdom tooth is NOT the safest option. 🦷⚠️
When a lower impacted wisdom tooth is very close to the inferior alveolar nerve, nerve injury can cause temporary numbness of the lower lip and lower teeth.
That’s where coronectomy can be considered — removing the crown while intentionally leaving the roots in place.
But when the tooth is safely away from the nerve, complete removal can be performed.
One tooth. Two different approaches.
The X-ray and the nerve decide the plan.
At Preserve Dentofacial Clinic, every case is individually assessed with a customised treatment plan suited to each case’s needs.
