Scaling সম্পর্কে কিছু প্রয়োজনীয় তথ্য-
Scaling হল‌ এমন একটি পদ্ধতি যার মাধ্যমে দাঁতের মধ্যে দীর্ঘদিন জমে থাকা Plaque এবং Tartar পরিস্কার করা হয়ে থাকে।
অনেকেরই Scaling সম্পর্কে কিছু ভুল ধারণা আছে। যেমন Scaling করলে দাঁত এবং মাড়ি দূর্বল হয়ে পড়ে বা দাঁতের মধ্যে ফাঁক বা Gap সৃষ্টি হয়। এটি সম্পূর্ণ একটি ভুল ধারণা।
Scaling করার পরে দাঁত ও মাড়ির মধ্যে জমে থাকা Plaque ও Tartar পরিস্কার হয়ে যায় ফলে দাঁত এবং মাড়ির গঠন আরো মজবুত হয় এবং Gingivitis ও Periodontitis নামক রোগ কে প্রতিহত করা যায়। দাঁত ও মাড়ির মধ্যে যে Gap এর সৃষ্টি হয় তা কিছুদিনের মধ্যেই মাড়ির Growth র মাধ্যমে ভরাট হয়ে যায়।

তাই ডেন্টিস্ট এর পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী সময় মতো দাঁত Scaling করালে দাঁত ও মাড়ি উভয়ই সুস্থ রাখা সম্ভব।
