Update on COVID-19
Some of the international research of risk factor of COVID-19 severity established that along with diabetes, hypertension, heart problem; the preexisting PERIODONTAL DISEASE (GUM DISEASE / पायोरिया / मसुडो की बिमारी / પાયોરિયા / પેઢાનો રોગ) is also responsible risk factor for COVID-19 severity.

A team of international researchers published their findings in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology

The study looked at more than 500 people who tested positive for COVID-19 in Qatar between February and July last year. Of those, about 45% had gum disease.

Researchers found that those COVID-19 infected patients who had gum disease were 3.5 times more likely to be admitted to the ICU, 4.5 times more likely to need a ventilator, and almost 9 times more likely to die from the virus, when compared to those COVID-19 patients who didn’t have gum disease.

So during this pandemic period also maintain your GUM HEALTH & ORAL HYGIENE (मसुडो का स्वास्थ्य और मुंह की स्वच्छता / પેઢાનું સ્વાસ્થ્ય અને મોઢાની સ્વચ્છતા) to reduce severity of COVID-19.
