I hope everyone had fun in the snow! The views of a snow-capped Jerusalem from Kever Shmuel Hanavi were amazing. It brought back fond memories of my childhood days in Cleveland, Ohio. Enjoy a warm weekend for it's back to work on Sunday!

In an effort to raise money for Melabev, an organization that provides care and services to people suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s, and to their families, we are organizing a second-hand book sale. My daughter Gilit will be participating in the 2012 Melabev Walkathon and has committed to raise a substantial amount of money. The book sale will take place in mid-November and ALL the proceeds will go to Melabev.

If you have any books that are taking up shelf space and collecting dust, now’s the chance to get rid of them for a worthy cause. Children and adult books, English and Hebrew books, fiction and non-fiction books are all welcome. Please drop off your books at the office: 19 Washington St., Jerusalem. Please call first to make sure we're there to greet you! 02-624-8655

The calendars feature fantastic drawings created by autistic children in Israel - each with their own unique style of art. I really enjoyed the recent London Olympics - hope you did too. Did you know that Mark Spitz, olympic champion, said the following: "I always wanted to be a dentist from the time I was in high school, and I was accepted to dental school in the spring of 1972. I was planning to go, but after the Olympics there were other opportunities."? Olympics are not in my future - I think I'll stick to orthodontics!! Shabbat Shalom!
