This patient was concerned about the appearance of her teeth 😁🦷
She had a Class II bite, meaning her upper teeth sat ahead of her lower teeth.To improve this, we removed her upper second molars and carefully moved her upper first molars backwards ↩️. This movement, called distalisation, can be tricky, so we used infrazygomatic TADs (tiny anchoring pins) to help control the back teeth and prevent the front teeth from flaring forwards.
She was also a fantastically compliant patient 🙌 — and this is so important with all orthodontic treatment, especially aligners.
The discretion and convenience of aligners are a big attraction for adults ✨, but the commitment shouldn’t be underestimated!!
