Why is my Dental Hygiene important? 🦷
Healthy teeth and gums are linked to better general health and wellbeing.
Tooth decay and abscesses can be extremely painful, if left untreated for a long period of time, this can also leave you feeling tired and run down.
Studies have shown untreated gum disease can increase your risk of serious health problems, such as heart disease & stroke.
⭐️ Tips for a Healthy Smile
• Dental flossing helps to remove food and plaque from between your teeth - reaching the surfaces you cannot by brushing alone. It is very useful for teeth that lie close to each other.
The Irish Dental Association (IDA) recommends that flossing is carried out at least once per day.
• Brush your teeth twice a day (morning and night).
Generally, you should replace your toothbrush every 3 months.
If you are unsure, have a look at the bristles. If they are frayed, they will not be as effective at cleaning your teeth.
• Schedule regular check-ups and professional cleans with your dentist.
