❌ Foods to Avoid with Fixed Braces 🦷

If you’re wearing fixed braces, a few small changes to your diet can help protect your brackets and wires and keep your treatment on track. At South Beach Clinic, we always recommend avoiding foods that are hard, sticky, or very crunchy.

🚫 Hard foods – nuts, hard sweets, ice, crusty bread
🚫 Sticky foods – caramel, chewing gum, toffee
🚫 Crunchy foods – popcorn, crisps, hard taco shells
🚫 Foods you bite into – whole apples, corn on the cob, baguettes

These foods can break brackets or bend wires, which may slow down your orthodontic treatment.

✅ Instead, choose softer foods like pasta, rice, soft fruit, yoghurt, eggs
