🦷COMPOSITE VENEER TO CROWN🦷
Patient fell off his bike aged 12 and banged one of his front teeth. The tooth discoloured over time and a composite bonding was placed by his dentist aged 15.

This composite worked for several years but as the tooth got darker underneath over time, the colour of the tooth began to show through.

His dentist referred him for to our prosthodontist who placed an all ceramic-crown to block out the underlying colour and match the shade of the adjacent tooth.

1. As you can see in this picture our patient came to us with some missing teeth on her lower arch. We discussed some options and decided it would be best to go with a Maryland bridge including implants and a dentures. However she had broken her jaw so couldn’t have implants due to having screws in her jaw.

2) In this picture you can see the bridge we created for our patient on the model.

3. Here you can see the final results of the bridge in our patients mouth. This bridge functions as natural teeth which means it doesn’t need to be removed. This is kept clean with a regular brush.

4. You can see here the metal wings cemented on the natural teeth cannot be seen from the front.

Our amazing hygienists!!

Rosemary
Rosemary has worked as a dental hygienist her at Harcourt Dental Clinic for over 30 years. She also worked in The Blackrock Clinic. With individual taught home care techniques, diet advice and regular maintenance she can assist you to maintain optimum oral health for the rest of your life. Rosemary was one of the founders of the Irish Dental Hygienist Association and in her spare time she enjoys playing golf and walking her dog.

Martina
Having lived in Australia and travelling around Europe Martina decided on a career in dental hygiene. Martina graduated from Trinity College’s School of Dental Science in June 2000 and has mostly worked in specialist dental practice, where she enjoys interacting with patients and colleagues. Martina will always make an effort to put nervous patients at ease. Martina is particularly fond of orthodontic and prosthodontic patients and the journey they take to achieve better oral health and a more beautiful smile. In her spare time, Martina enjoys the outdoors, particularly the beautiful scenery in Wicklow

Anne
Anne began her dental career nursing with Dr Spencer Woolfe in 1984 and she received her certificate in Dental nursing in 1987 from Trinity College. At the time, there were no dental hygienist courses available in Ireland, so Anne moved to Glasgow in Scotland to complete her hygiene course before returning to Harcourt Street in 1990, where she has worked ever since. Anne is also registered with the Irish Dental Council (IDA) and a current member of the Irish Dental Hygienist Association (IDHA).
