Dr Tom Houlihan was in general practice for 20 years before he decided to take 3 years off in order to study orthodontics in the USA. He did his specialty training in the University of Washington, Seattle, graduating in 2011. Tom started Tom Houlihan Orthodontics and practices in two locations: 16 Burlington Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and
Suite 26, The Hermitage Medical Clinic, Lucan, Dublin 20.

His passion is creating a beautiful smile along with establishing a healthy occlusion (the dynamics of the bite). His specialty training in the US, has encouraged this passion and has established a standard second to none in relation to the dynamics of orthodontics.

This teenage patient was treated without extraction and finished in 26 months. The objectives were to correct alignment while maintaining a good arch width and achieve good bite as his bite was deep. Deep overbite overtime is not good as this can cause trauma to the palate and extensive wear on the teeth. Patient was very happy with results!

This is a 14 year old female patient. She had anterior open bite, narrow arch forms and crowding. Her treatment included widening arches, closed down anterior bite, no extraction. There was great cooperation from the patient with good elastic wear. Great results were achieved!
