Another step closer to the final smile ✨🦷

Our patient Daniel is currently undergoing orthodontic treatment and was back in today for a routine adjustment.

Those regular adjustment appointments are guided by DentalMonitoring which allow us to monitor progress, make the necessary changes and keep treatment moving in the right direction.

Our in-house laboratory at Specialist Orthodontic Practice is now ISO certified. We are so proud of this one.

That means an independent auditor has checked how we run the laboratory against an internationally recognised standard: how we organise our work, keep records, check quality and deal with problems.

We make our own aligners, retainers, indirect bonding trays and other orthodontic appliances here. Having the people making those appliances working alongside the people treating our patients is something I value enormously.

There’s a lot of work behind that certificate. Much of it will never feature in a before-and-after photograph, but it matters to how we run the practice.

Thank you to our laboratory team and everyone who helped us achieve this. You deserve the credit.

One of the nicest moments in orthodontic treatment, seeing the reaction when the braces come off and that new smile is finally revealed.

A lot of time, patience and progress goes into getting to this point, which makes the final result even more special 🦷✨

A familiar face back in the practice for a retainer check! 🦷🤍

Retainers play such an important role after orthodontic treatment, helping to keep the teeth in their new positions over time.⏳

At these appointments, we check that the retainers are still fitting comfortably, look for any small changes in the teeth and make sure everything is staying on track.🪄

It is also a good opportunity to catch up, answer any questions and remind patients how important regular retainer wear is for maintaining their result.

Always lovely to see our patients again and to keep following their smile journey even after active treatment has finished. ✨

✨ Smile goal achieved for Aoibhin! ✨

Aoibhin completed comprehensive orthodontic treatment in 24 months with:
✅Fixed Braces
✅Elastic to help correct Class II bite and improve the overjet.

Her case was made more complex by history of significant trauma to her upper left incisor, which required careful monitoring throughout the treatment.

Aoibhin achieved a fantastic result through excellent cooperation with her elastics, remote monitoring and oral-hygiene care throughout treatment. Aoibhin will now maintain her new smile with an upper and lower Essix retainers. 🦷

Finn was away from the practice this week in Cairo🇪🇬, examining for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Specialist Orthodontic Examination. 🧐🦷

It was a privilege to help assess the next generation of orthodontists in Egypt and, as always, the experience offered valuable opportunities to learn, exchange ideas and bring fresh perspectives back to the practice.
