In response to the Government’s increase in restrictions due to the pandemic, we would like to reassure patients that we continue to remain open to provide care. We continue to adhere to the HPSC’s most up to date recommendations regarding providing dental treatment during the pandemic and have ensured all guidance issued on 09.10.2020 is followed. Our Covid-19 protocols regarding attendance at the practice remain the same. Our reception team can be contacted if you have any queries about attendance.

Good news! – We are re-opening again on Monday 18th May.

The Dental Council of Ireland released a statement on 16.5.20 to advise the lifting of emergency restrictions on dental services, and referenced the HPSC’s ‘Guidance on Managing Infection Related Risks in Dental Services’ (published on 15.5.20) as the authoritative national advice on managing a return to a more routine form of dentistry following the lifting of emergency restrictions.

We are in the process of contacting all those patients who had their appointments cancelled, to reschedule as soon as possible. We are also contacting patients who have upcoming appointments scheduled in the coming weeks to confirm those appointment times and dates. For new patients who have been referred before or during the emergency phase, we will be in touch very shortly to offer you consultation appointments. As you can imagine, this is quite a task, and it will take our reception team a a little time to get this completed. We thank you in advance for your patience, and assure you that we are doing everything we can to get you a suitable appointment as soon as possible.

A few days before your next appointment, it’ll be necessary for our reception team to run through a series of questions with you on the phone or by email. Once these have been answered, we can proceed with your visit. We will guide you on this, as it may be very different from your previous attendance with us. We ask that when you next attend, you attend alone, and that you leave most personal belongings in your car. You will be offered to wait in your car, or to have a seat in our waiting area (seating is limited and appropriately spaced at 2m distances). If you come by bike / motorcycle, please leave your helmet outside if possible, and you can lock your bike securely outside the practice door as usual. You will be greeted by our reception team on arrival, some routine questions recorded again, and your temperature will also be taken with a non-touch thermometer. Our reception team may look a little different, as they will likely be wearing masks and eyewear – don’t worry, they will still have a smile for you!

We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to the practice again.

Best wishes and stay safe,

Barry Dace, Rachel Doody, and all the Team at Number16

(update 13.5.20) Following the Government publication of the roadmap to reopening, we are hoping to resume practice operations very shortly again (on or around the 18th May). We are awaiting imminent publication of the exact date of this from the Dental Council of Ireland, following their recent meetings with NPHET and the other relevant dental organisations. Once we have clear guidance on this (expected within the next 24-48 hours), we will hopefully be operational again.

Assuming that the Dental Council give the go-ahead for a resumption of service, we will be contacting patients in the coming days to confirm appointments for the week of Monday 18th May.

HOWEVER, if you have an existing appointment during the week of 18th May - please DON'T re-attend without a confirmation call or email from our reception team, as there are several steps that we'll need to discuss with you in advance of your appointment.

For patients who had their appointments cancelled, we'll be in touch as soon as we re-open to reschedule your original appointment. We have a full list of the cancelled appointments and will endeavour to get you in as soon as possible.

We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to the practice again.

Best wishes and stay safe,

Barry Dace, Rachel Doody, and all the Team at Number16

6.4.20 Update on practice closure:
Due to the current covid-19 pandemic, we have extended our practice closure until further notice.
We are really hoping to get back to work soon, but await guidelines on this in the coming days/ weeks.
We will continually update our position in response to these changing guidelines through our website/ Facebook and answerphone.
We are currently only able to see patients in very defined emergency situations. Information about emergency contact numbers is on our answerphone message. We ask patients NOT to leave messages about emergencies on our answerphone or email, but to follow the guidance and contact numbers given on the answerphone message.
We also ask patients NOT to email or leave phone messages about general enquiry or scheduling matters at this time, as without administrative support, we cannot reply to each message.
All patients with existing appointments will be rescheduled on our return as our first priority, and we have a list of all those new patients who await contact also, so no need to contact us to reschedule, we’ll get to you on our return.
As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult and emotional time for all of us who work at Number16. Our staff have worked tirelessly under difficult circumstances to deal with it. We thank all our patients and referring dental professionals, for your understanding at this difficult moment. Please keep checking our website for updates and further information. We’ll keep updates coming through FB also. Barry & Rachel
