FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
How white will my teeth go?
We guarantee a minimum of 10 shades whiter but get an average of 12 shades whiter from your starting shade. This is dependent on the type of staining and the mineral content contained within your teeth so results will therefore vary between individuals.
The procedure removes stains restoring them to their natural colour as opposed to bleaching them.
In the very rare instance that you do not achieve 10 shades we will give you a free top up treatment to ensure you achieve that result!
Is the process harmful to teeth?
No, the effect on teeth is no different to the effect from commonly ingested foods or regular dental procedures. This professional teeth whitening system has been proven to have no short or long term negative effects on the enamel of teeth, on the dentin of teeth or the gums. In fact it is specially formulated to improve general oral health, while whitening.
Can I come back if I want my teeth to be even whiter?
In cases of severe staining (long term smokers etc) your teeth will be much whiter after the procedure however a further session may be an option if you wish to restore them to their natural colour.
Will I feel pain or sensitivity?
No, we use a patented whitening gel that contains no hydrogen peroxide or bleach. This enables us to get superior results without experiencing any sensitivity, during or after the whitening procedure.
How long does it take?
The treatment itself takes about 45 minutes, but when you come in we will go through everything with you and do a consultation so it usually takes about an hour in total. That is the complete treatment and you will see the results immediately after you have finished.
How long does the treatment last?
This totally depends on your lifestyle but on average it would last 6 -9 months to return to initial shade.
I’m getting married when should we get our teeth whitened?
Any time within a few weeks of the big day. Preferably not the day before the wedding, stag or hen though because you have to eat white food only for 24 hours after the procedure.
Will the treatment whiten crowns, veneers or false teeth?
The treatment is not designed to whiten caps, crowns or false teeth, it will however clean and restore the false teeth back to their original colour. It will remove all stains and plaque that may have built up on them and the natural teeth will be whitened as normal.
Do I need to get a scale and polish before having my teeth whitened?
No, most people don’t need to get this done.
However if you have a severe build up of plaque you may wish to get this removed prior to whitening procedure for optimum results. You can always get it done afterwards but would be advisable to do it first.
Who can’t get their teeth whitened?
Although there is no known side effects it is not permitted to undergo the treatment if you are currently pregnant or under the age of 18.
In the case of very uneven staining e.g. black in between teeth, or very dark lines across the teeth, it may be difficult to fully remove these. We are happy to whiten your teeth in these circumstances but cannot guarantee the results will look like our promotional pictures.
We would recommend in cases of severe and uneven staining that clients visit the dentist for a scale and polish prior to attending our clinic for whitening.
