🦷 Did you know your diet may affect your gum health? 🌿
Recent research highlighted in Dental Tribune suggests that what we eat may play a role in gum (periodontal) disease, not just brushing and flossing alone. https://www.dental-tribune.com/news/plant-rich-mediterranean-diet-associated-with-reduced-risk-of-periodontal-disease/

People who followed a plant-rich Mediterranean-style diet — including plenty of vegetables, fruit, legumes, whole grains, nuts and olive oil — were found to have:
• Healthier gums
• Lower levels of inflammation in the body
• Less severe gum disease
On the other hand, diets high in red meat were linked with more advanced gum problems.
While diet alone doesn’t replace dental treatment, these findings support what we know: gum disease is linked to inflammation, and overall health and lifestyle can influence oral health too.
A balanced diet, good oral hygiene, and regular dental care all work together to support healthy gums.

A recent study on Mediterranean diet has suggested that such a diet may help reduce both periodontal disease and inflammatory responses.

As we look forward to 2026, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank all of our patients , referring dentists & my students , without whom none of it would be possible this year. Not a day goes by without us reflecting on how we can continue to improve the care we provide. There is a saying, often attributed to the Irish poet W.B. Yeats: “There are no strangers here; only friends you haven’t yet met.” We do hope that it reflects the spirit of our practice — one built on connection, respect, and shared care.
