🦷💙 World Cavity-Free Future Day 2026
This year, EDSA is proud to once again join the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future () in raising awareness of dental caries and the importance of prevention.
Oral health is health. Yet 3.5 billion people worldwide are affected by oral diseases, many of which are preventable.
As dental students and future healthcare professionals, we have an important role in advocating for prevention, accessible oral healthcare and stronger health policies.
Together, we can turn awareness into action and contribute to a cavity-free future. 🌍
💬 Why does oral health matter to you or your community? Share your thoughts and help spread the message.

//10 October | World Mental Health Day 💙
In dentistry, we know the importance of prevention and regular check-ups. But how often do we give our own mental health the same attention?
Between studying, treating patients, managing responsibilities and keeping up with everyday life, it's easy to overlook signs of stress, exhaustion or feeling overwhelmed.
Mental health is part of our overall health, and looking after it matters at every stage of our personal and professional lives.
This , take a moment to pause, reflect and check in with yourself. 💭
And remember, seeking support is just as important as providing it.
We care for others. Let's remember to care for ourselves, too. 🤍

//Thrilled to represent the European Dental Students’ Association (EDSA) at the ADEE Graduating European Dentist (GED) Stakeholder Meeting in Dublin 🇮🇪🦷
Together with educators, regulators and stakeholders from across Europe, we’re contributing as the student voice to important discussions on the future of dental education. This time we've focused on training hours, meaningful placements, simulation, as part of the ongoing discussion on what qualifies a graduate as a competent European dentist.
A huge thank you to ADEE for bringing everyone together and for the continued collaboration. We’re excited to contribute towards a future where high-quality, evidence-based dental education benefits students and patients alike.

//🏁 That's a wrap on Make Sense Week 2026!
From 21 to 26 September, we joined the Make Sense Campaign in raising awareness of head and neck cancer under this year's theme: "Right Care at the Right Time."
📅 The week in review:
• 21 Launch: right care at the right time
• 22 Awareness: 1 symptom, 3 weeks, act now
• 23 Patient Day: treatment ends, care continues
• 24 HCP Education: care doesn't happen in a silo
• 25 Policy: late diagnosis costs more
💡 Take-home message: right care at the right time starts with taking action. If a symptom lasts more than 3 weeks, speak to a dentist or doctor. Talk about it with friends, family and colleagues. Every share counts. Every conversation matters.
🙏 Thank you to everyone who followed, shared and joined the conversation.

//MakeSenseWeek. Day 5. Policy. Late diagnosis costs more — in systems and in lives.

This Head & Neck Cancer Awareness Week, EDSA is supporting the Make Sense Campaign by highlighting the need for timely and equitable access to care across Europe.

Awareness and early recognition are important, but they must be supported by health systems that ensure timely diagnosis, effective referral, and access to specialist and multidisciplinary care.

Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan identifies early detection, high-quality cancer care and reducing inequalities as key priorities. These commitments must translate into action for people affected by head and neck cancer.

The right care. The right time. For everyone.

//💊 World Pharmacists Day | 25 September 2026

This World Pharmacists Day, EDSA is joining EPSA in celebrating pharmacists and pharmacy students and their contribution to healthier communities.

Pharmacists play an essential role in healthcare — supporting safe and appropriate medicine use, prevention, health promotion and access to care.

But healthcare does not happen in isolation. 🦷

Oral health is part of overall health, and medication use and oral health can intersect in many ways, from dry mouth and changes in saliva to medication-related effects on oral tissues and caries risk.

This is why collaboration between healthcare professionals matters.

One patient. Many healthcare professionals. One shared goal: better health.

Happy World Pharmacists Day to all pharmacists and pharmacy students! 💊🦷

//MakeSenseWeek. Day 4. HCP Education. 🤝 CARE DOESN'T HAPPEN IN A SILO
For people with head & neck cancer, particularly those with advanced disease, care can involve complex and individual needs.
That's why multidisciplinary care matters. 🩺
An MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) brings together healthcare professionals from different specialties, combining their expertise to support individualised treatment and coordinated care throughout the patient journey.
🎯 The Make Sense Campaign advocates for multidisciplinary care as a standardised best-practice approach across Europe — from diagnosis and treatment through to ongoing care.
This Head & Neck Cancer Awareness Week, we're highlighting the importance of healthcare professional (HCP) education, specialist expertise and coordinated multidisciplinary care.
📲 Test your knowledge in our Stories today: how much do you know about the role of the MDT?
💡 Right care. Right time. Right team.
