Mouth Cancer Awareness Day 🤍

Today is an important reminder that your routine dental check-up is about so much more than your teeth.

Mouth cancer can affect the lips, tongue, gums, cheeks, floor of the mouth and throat — and early detection can make a significant difference.

Be aware of changes in your mouth, particularly:
• An ulcer that doesn’t heal
• A red or white patch
• A lump or unusual thickening
• Persistent pain or tenderness
• Difficulty chewing, swallowing or speaking
• Any unexplained change that just doesn’t feel right

If something has been there for more than three weeks, don’t ignore it — have it checked.

During her dental training in University College Cork Dental School & Hospital, Sorcha travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal, where she volunteered to provide essential dental care in rural communities, an experience that reinforced her dedication to compassionate, patient-centred practice.

Known for her gentle and professional manner, Sorcha fosters trust and comfort in her patients, creating a welcoming environment for all patients.

Outside of dentistry, she enjoys travelling, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
