Phone us on 049-4327030 to make an appointment with Dr Aisling Murray.
Dr Aisling Murray graduated from Queens University Dental School in 2016.
She successfully completed Vocational Training in Northern Ireland whilst working in a busy NHS and private practice.
Following this, Aisling chose to complete further training in Altnagelvin General Hospital where she worked in both the orthodontic and maxillofacial surgery departments. Here Aisling gained valuable experience in all aspects of oral surgery, including wisdom teeth removal, carrying out biopsies and working with patients who had head and neck cancer. Aisling then spent a year working in Scotland, working principally as an integral part of the Special Care Dental team in Dundee at the UK’s first (and currently only) Dental Hospital and Research School. Aisling worked with patients affected by cognitive impairment and various other medical conditions including cardiac disease and those requiring organ transplants. Aisling also delivered dental care for anxious patients under different types of conscious sedation. Aisling was also able to develop her teaching skills during this post and helped give lectures as well as teaching dental students on clinics.
A year working in Dublin dental hospital followed. During this time, Aisling worked with patients requiring complex restorative treatment.
Aisling returned to general dental practice in 2020 and enjoys treating all patient groups. She particularly enjoys working with anxious patients and after completing further training in conscious sedation, she is able to independently administer and treat patients under intravenous (IV) sedation. Continuing professional development and lifelong learning are very important to Aisling and she regularly travels to the UK to attend lectures and ‘hands on’ courses in different aspects of dentistry. She recently completed Dr Basil Mizrahi prestigious comprehensive restorative course in Harley Street.
Aisling was awarded MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow and was awarded a PG Cert in Medical Education - permitting her to be a fellow of the higher education academy. She is a member of SAAD and has presented nationally and internationally at dental conferences.
Aisling recently co-authored articles for the British dental journal. She is keen to share the skills and training she has gained over the last 7 years and collaborates regularly with former colleagues writing articles providing guidance for general dental practitioners on the management of patients with complex medical and social needs.
