What does a dentist’s life really look like? 🤍

Honestly, it’s not that different from any other profession.

Some days, I feel incredibly grateful and proud of what I do.
And some days… I don’t feel that great about myself.

Because at the end of the day, I’m human too.

So, guess what I do when I’m feeling a little down?

I go through my Google Maps reviews and read some of the beautiful and heartfelt messages from my patients. 🥹🤍

And somehow… it works.

Those words lift my spirit, remind me why I started, and genuinely make my day a little brighter.

To all my patients — many of whom I now consider friends — thank you for being such an amazing source of encouragement.

Your kind words may only take a few minutes to write, but you may never know how much they can mean to someone on the other side.

Much appreciated. Always. 🤍

Why do we use a radiograph template? 🦷🔍

A radiograph template can be a valuable tool during dental treatment planning, especially for complex cases such as implants.

It helps us to:

🔹 Visualize important anatomical structures
🔹 Assess available bone and treatment area
🔹 Plan implant position, angulation, and size
🔹 Improve communication between the dentist, laboratory, and patient
🔹 Make treatment planning more predictable

A radiograph gives us important information about what we cannot see clinically.

By combining clinical examination, radiographs, and careful treatment planning, we can make more informed decisions for each patient.

✨ Better planning. Better precision. Better outcomes.

What if my dental implant gets infected? 🦷⚠️

An infected implant should never be ignored. But does it always mean the implant has to be removed?

Not necessarily.

Some warning signs include:

🔹 Red, swollen, or tender gums around the implant
🔹 Bleeding when brushing around the implant
🔹 Pus or discharge
🔹 Persistent bad taste or bad breath
🔹 Pain or discomfort around the implant
🔹 Increasing mobility or looseness of the implant
🔹 Bone loss around the implant seen on an X-ray

Early inflammation around an implant (peri-implant mucositis) may be treatable and reversible with professional cleaning and improved oral hygiene.

However, when the infection progresses and causes bone loss around the implant (peri-implantitis), treatment becomes more complex.

🦷 Does the implant need to be removed?

Not always.

Depending on the severity, treatment may include professional debridement, management of the infection, surgical treatment, or other approaches. Implant removal may be necessary when the implant has become unstable, there is significant bone loss, or the infection cannot be successfully controlled.

✨ The earlier the problem is detected, the more options we may have to save the implant.

If you notice bleeding, swelling, pus, pain, or mobility around your implant, don't wait for it to get worse.

Small Jaw. Big Challenge. Excellent Result. 🦷✨

This was definitely not a routine denture case.

Our patient presented with an extremely small jaw, measuring approximately 3 × 4 cm, making denture fabrication particularly challenging.

The goal was to achieve:

✨ Good suction and retention despite the very limited denture-bearing area
✨ Natural aesthetics with well-proportioned teeth
✨ Comfort and function for everyday use

After careful planning, design, fabrication, and adjustments, we were able to achieve an excellent final result — with good suction, stability, and natural aesthetics. 🤍

Cases like this remind us that denture treatment is not simply about making a set of teeth.

It’s about understanding the anatomy, available space, soft tissues, jaw relationship, and functional requirements — and finding the best solution for each individual patient.

A challenging case, but a rewarding result. ✨

I wore my retainer for 5 years… so why are my teeth still moving after I stopped?” 🦷🤔

This is a very common question!

Even after years of wearing a retainer, teeth can still move if you stop wearing it.

Why?

🦷 Teeth are not permanently “locked” into position. The periodontal ligament and surrounding tissues can adapt and change over time.

🦷 Your jawbone and gums continue to change. Aging and natural remodeling can influence tooth position.

🦷 Natural forces are always present. Your tongue, lips, cheeks, and biting forces can contribute to gradual tooth movement.

🦷 Relapse can happen even years after orthodontic treatment. Wearing a retainer for 5 years doesn't guarantee that your teeth will stay perfectly straight forever once you stop.

That’s why many dentists and orthodontists recommend long-term or lifelong retention — usually with a retainer worn at night.

✨ Think of it this way:

Orthodontic treatment moves your teeth.
Retainers maintain the result.
Stopping retention means your teeth may gradually move again.

So if your teeth have started shifting after you stopped wearing your retainer, don't panic. 🤍

A dental or orthodontic assessment can determine whether your existing retainer can still be used or whether a new retainer or further treatment is needed.
