WHY IS ORAL SANITATION NECESSARY BEFORE DENTAL IMPLANTATION?
Before every dental surgery, even minor issues in the patient's oral cavity are carefully considered.

To eliminate these problems, oral cavity sanitation is carried out, which increases the chance of a positive outcome of the operation.

Oral sanitation is a set of dental procedures aimed at improving the condition of teeth and soft tissues of the oral cavity.

This process includes diagnostics, professional cleaning, tartar removal, cavities, gum correction, and the extraction of irreparable teeth.

The main goal of oral sanitation is to eliminate infections and inflammations that can negatively impact the patient's overall health and create complications during and after surgery.

This procedure is especially important before dental implant surgery, as oral infection can have serious consequences, including periimplantitis, implant loss, and the need for treatment and jawbone restoration.

CAN YOU GET IMPLANTS IF YOU HAVE NO TEETH AT ALL?
Despite the popularity of dental implants, patients still have many questions about the procedure, and the field itself is surrounded by numerous myths.

One common question regarding dental implants is whether it is possible to get them if one has no teeth at all.
Our answer is: YES, it is possible.

The fact is that the first patient (his name was Gesta), who received implants in 1965, did not have a single natural tooth, and it was difficult for him to use even removable dentures.
Just imagine how difficult life would have been for this man if he had never met the famous professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark, the founder of dental implantation.

In order to restore teeth in the case of complete edentia, it is not at all necessary to replace each tooth with an implant. Such an operation costs a fortune and is not always possible due to anatomical factors.

Modern technology allows for the placement of prostheses supported by 8, 6, or 4 implants.
Naturally, the more implants used, the more stable the structure; however, any implant-based solution effectively resolves the problem of total tooth loss.

HOW IS THE INITIAL EXAMINATION AT THE DENTIST CARRIED OUT?
Most patients put off going to the dentist because they fear they will be treated during their first visit.
This is a common misconception.

During the initial appointment, the dentist will inquire about key symptoms, such as pain, sensitivity, or bleeding gums, and will also inquire about previous illnesses, surgeries, allergies, and medications.

After obtaining this information, the doctor will begin an oral examination.

Additional instruments may be used for a more in-depth analysis.

Don't worry, their use is completely painless.

It's important to note that during the examination, the doctor not only examines problem areas but also the overall condition of the teeth.

The dentist carefully evaluates the condition of the mucous membrane, teeth, and gums.

He looks for signs of cavities, the presence of fillings and crowns, and also checks for gum inflammation, plaque, and tartar.

To obtain a more complete picture of the condition of the teeth and roots, an X-ray is prescribed.

After collecting all the information, the dentist will make a diagnosis and create a personalized treatment plan.
This plan may include various procedures, such as cavity treatment, fillings, root canal treatment, plaque removal, extractions, and dental prosthetics.

The stages of treatment and their content are also discussed during the consultation.

The initial examination should be taken very seriously, as it is crucial for an accurate diagnosis and the development of an effective treatment plan.

START WITH A PREVENTATIVE DENTAL CHECKUP
Regular dental checkups are more than just a necessary routine; they're a way to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Timely diagnosis, disease prevention, and professional cleanings help avoid costly procedures.

The fact is, many dental problems don't show up right away. Cavities, gum inflammation, and various dental diseases can develop for a long time without visible symptoms.

It's like a small crack in ice—it grows, but we don't notice it until the ice breaks.

The sooner a dentist detects the problem, the easier it will be to fix.

Early-stage cavities are quickly and inexpensively treated, but if they're advanced, they can cost more time and money.

After your preventative checkup, schedule a professional teeth cleaning and tartar removal.

Because no matter how hard you try to take care of your teeth, tartar is inevitable.
If tartar isn't removed promptly, it can cause inflammation and other unpleasant conditions.

WHY GET A PROFESSIONAL TEETH CLEANING?
A professional teeth cleaning is an important element in preventing dental, gum, and periodontal diseases.

During a professional cleaning, tartar and plaque, which are harmful to teeth, are primarily removed.
Plaque contains bacteria, including streptococcus, which causes cavities.

Plaque bacteria produce acid, but this is neutralized by saliva in the first few hours.

However, when plaque becomes thick and dense, saliva no longer penetrates it.

The acid from the bacteria begins to dissolve tooth enamel and form tartar.

In other words, tartar is calcified plaque that adheres to the tooth to such a degree that it can no longer be removed using home remedies.

At home, you can only remove soft plaque with a toothbrush, and only in areas accessible to brushing and flossing.

If this plaque, which harbors millions of bacteria, isn't removed, gingivitis and cavities gradually develop.

Conclusion: professional teeth cleaning is beneficial and should be done at least once a year.

WHY IS A TREATMENT PLAN NECESSARY?
A treatment plan is a personalized document that includes a detailed list of the dental services a patient requires and their costs.

A treatment plan clearly organizes information and helps patients understand:
- the procedures the patient will undergo,
- the cost of the entire set of upcoming procedures, and the available options (treatment options and materials),
- adhering to an important procedure sequence:

for example, endodontic treatment is performed first, followed by the prosthetic stage with the placement of a prosthesis (since only high-quality root canal treatment will ensure the long-lasting restoration).

A treatment plan can be optimized according to the patient's wishes.
Or two plans with different treatment options can be created so the patient can choose the most suitable option.

A patient with a personalized treatment plan is more reassuring about all dental procedures, as they understand how to achieve good results in the optimal time frame and at the optimal cost.
And the patient’s peace of mind is a guarantee of the effectiveness of treatment.

WHAT IS PERIOSTITIS IN DENTISTRY?
It is an inflammation of the periosteum of the tooth.
Periostitis is infectious in origin and develops when food particles enter the inner tissues of the tooth or the gingival pocket.
As a result, the process of food decomposition begins inside the gums, inflammation appears, and then pus.
The purulent sac expands to the periosteum, causing swelling of the gum tissue of the inner edge of the cheek.

Periostitis has the following symptoms:
- fever, headaches, general weakness;
- swelling in the area of inflammation, with swelling occurring on the side of the face where the condition is diagnosed;
- severe, throbbing pain;
- pain when eating;
- lymph node reaction.

The most dangerous aspect of periostitis is infection.
Infectious processes tend to develop quickly and progress to more complex conditions, such as spreading beyond the oral cavity.

You cannot treat periosteitis on your own. Self-medication will lead to unpleasant complications.

This condition should only be treated by a doctor: a surgeon or dentist.
Treatment includes surgery and medications prescribed by the doctor.

WE KNOW THAT TEETH TREATMENT/PROSTHETICS IS EXPENSIVE
It's wonderful if you can do everything all at once, forget about the problem forever, and only come in for regular checkups.
But if that's not possible, talk to us about your dental problem (phone number below). Or you can write to us.
The first thing we will suggest is to take a panoramic x-ray. You can have it done in your country and send us a screenshot (you can even do it via private message).
This type of X-ray is usually inexpensive; in some countries, panoramic X-rays are even covered by insurance.

After receiving your X-ray, we'll create a preliminary treatment/prosthetics plan. We'll send it to you and be happy to discuss it with you.
We create the plan primarily for ourselves, so we can see the overall clinical picture.
But we'll implement the plan based on your financial circumstances.
Implementing the plan will be a goal that the treating doctor and patient will move toward step by step.

Even if these are very small steps.
And each small step can be paid for separately (notice that it looks a lot like an installment plan?).

In any case, it's better than doing nothing at all to solve dental problems.

At first, the goal will seem unattainable.

But trust our experience, once you start receiving dental services, this feeling will disappear.

WHAT IS A DENTAL CT SCAN, AND HOW IS IT BETTER THAN A REGULAR X-RAY?
Let's start with the fact that CT is the gold standard for implant preparation.
Because before installing an implant, you need to be 100% sure of the volume of bone tissue.

CT allows you to:
- accurately measure the height and width of the bone at the site of the future implant placement;
- visualize the location of the mandibular nerve and maxillary sinus to avoid damage;
- virtually plan the surgery, which minimizes risks and reduces the time of the procedure.

CT is also helpful in root canal treatment:
- it can detect hidden foci of inflammation at the root apex, which are not visible on a 2D image;
- locate all root canals;
- monitor the quality of root canal fillings after treatment.

CT is an important diagnostic tool in surgical dentistry, particularly when extracting complex teeth.
You can see:
—the location of the roots relative to the nerves and adjacent teeth;
—the shape and curvature of the roots, which allows you to plan the least traumatic tooth extraction.

It's worth noting that in periodontology, CT scans show the initial stages of bone destruction around the teeth during periodontitis, allowing for timely treatment and saving your teeth.

In orthodontics, when planning treatment with braces or aligners, a 3D scan provides a complete picture:
—the condition and location of the roots;
—the presence of impacted teeth that may interfere with the movement of other teeth;
—for digital modeling of your new smile.

What about patient safety?
We answer: the radiation dose from modern cone-beam CT is minimal and comparable to 1-2 hours of an airplane flight or 2-3 days of natural background radiation.

And this is in exchange for obtaining information for making sound clinical decisions.
