Five years ago, an idea became a book.
Today, it has become part of the journey of thousands of dentists discovering the world of laser dentistry.
The Glossary of Dental Lasers, created together with René Franzen, was born from a simple vision: to make the language of laser dentistry understandable, accessible, and useful for every clinician who wanted to enter this fascinating field. Over the years, it found its way into the hands of dentists, educators, students, and laser enthusiasts around the world — often alongside René’s excellent book Basic Principles of Medical and Dental Lasers, a combination that became a starting point for many colleagues beginning their laser journey.
This milestone is also a tribute to Prof. Norbert Gutknecht, whose vision, mentorship, and dedication shaped generations of laser dentists and built the foundations of AALZ. His contribution to our field continues to inspire all of us.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who trusted our work, studied from these books, taught with them, and shared our passion for advancing laser dentistry worldwide. Seeing these publications become part of daily clinical education has been one of the greatest rewards of our professional lives.
And this is only the beginning.
Together with the entire AALZ family, we continue to work, innovate, educate, and build the future of laser dentistry.
