Dear parents/carers,

We have been using social media for some time to showcase the amazing activities our staff and children do every day, as well as celebrating individual, nursery and group achievements.
After a careful review we have decided to rationalise our online presence, and as of 16th February all posts will only be shared on our ‘Complete Childcare Nurseries’ page on Facebook and Instagram, and ‘Nursery Jobs in Complete Childcare’ on Facebook.

Therefore, if you don’t already, please follow us using the links
below, so you can carry on keeping up to date with nursery life and supporting our settings!
Thank you!

Our Preschool children have been very busy today making their own strawberry cakes. They started by choosing their strawberries from the punnet, then used their knives carefully to chop them into smaller pieces — such brilliant concentration and independence.
They loved adding the strawberries into the mixture and watching them swirl around the bowl. Once the cakes were baked, the children used heart shaped cutters to create their very own special cake to take home.
A lovely mix of baking, creativity, and hands on learning — and the children were so proud of their delicious creations.

Continuing our maths adventures in Preschool!
This week the children have shown such a wonderful interest in numbers and counting. It’s been amazing to watch their curiosity grow as they explore, compare, sort, and discover new ways to use numbers in their play.

This week in Nest, our little ones have been busy making bread.
They explored the textures, experimented with different ingredients, and watched with excitement as everything came together to form their very own dough. It’s been a wonderful hands on learning experience and the room has been filled with curiosity, concentration, and lots of happy chatter.

Last week in Cook’s School, the children asked if they could make a cake — so today we brought that idea to life.
The children explored Mathematics in action as they weighed out their ingredients, counted eggs, and measured everything they needed. They mixed it all together to create a delicious lemon cake, complete with grated peel that filled the room with the most amazing smell.
The best part was seeing their excitement as they enjoyed their homemade cake as part of their mealtime. A wonderful blend of learning, teamwork, and tasty rewards.

Today in preschool we’ve been busy exploring numbers in lots of hands‑on ways. The children counted the spots on our ladybird flash cards, matching quantities to numerals, and then moved on to using rulers—looking closely at the numbers while drawing their own straight lines. A lovely mix of early maths, fine‑motor practice, and curious little minds at work.

We have had some babbling babies in the nest.
The babies have been exploring a basket with different objects we use in the room. The children were shown a cup of water, some building blocks, a hairbrush, a fork and a bowl, they were told the names of each object and shown how to use it. ‘Car, Cars are for pushing’ The children were given time with each object and the adult repeating the names again.

Exploring Paint Texture Bags in the Nest!
Today in the Nest we’ve been getting creative with paint texture bags. By adding colourful paint into sealed food bags, the children were able to explore the feel of the paint, move it around, and watch the colours swirl and mix. Such a fun, hands-on way to learn through play!

Our Nest children have been busy exploring some fantastic messy play this week. They loved rolling cars and trains down drainpipes filled with colourful paint, watching the wheels create wonderful tracks across the paper.
One of our little explorers even decided to make their own tracks on the floor—such a lovely moment of curiosity and creativity in action!
Messy play is all about discovery, imagination, having fun and the children certainly embraced every moment.

Mud Kitchen Magic in The Nest
The Nest babies had the best time in the garden this morning, diving into the mud kitchen and creating their own magical potions. It was so exciting to watch the colours swirl together as they mixed, poured, and explored. Such wonderful messy play and big smiles all around!

Independent Sandwich Making in Preschool!
Our Preschool children had a brilliant time making their own sandwiches today. They carefully used knives to spread butter across their bread and then selected their own fillings to create a tasty snack.
This simple activity is packed with learning. Alongside developing fine motor skills and independence, the children were also exploring mathematical thinking from counting slices, noticing shapes, comparing quantities, and making choices based on size and amount.
Real life experiences like this help build confidence, problem solving skills, and a love of learning.

The Nest team has been busy getting creative — and sustainable. Using old cardboard tubes, they’ve built a fantastic new posting wall that’s already bringing energy into our space. We love seeing recycling turn into something this inspiring. The babies are absolutely loving it, especially posting the balls and watching with excitement to see where they’ll fall next. A brilliant bit of recycling turning into endless fun.
