This week is Learning Disability Week ℹ️

Learning Disability Week is all about making sure the world hears what life is like if you, or someone you know, has a learning disability.
The theme this year is "Do you see me?" which is all about people with a learning disability being seen, heard and valued.
At Museum Square we pride ourselves on our ability to affectively communicate with people who have learning disabilities and making sure they feel valued, included and cared for, and that their dental appointments are a more positive experience for them.
We are continually improving our knowledge and how we can help anyone with a disability and their loved ones and carers, better care for their oral health.
We also use Makaton for patients who find this an affective way of communicating.

✨Smile Transformation✨

This lovely patient came to us after recently completing her orthodontic treatment.
While she was delighted with the results, she wanted to take her smile one step further and achieve her own vision of perfection.

After discussing her goals with our dentist, Luke, they decided together that composite bonding on the upper teeth would be the best option. This treatment not only enhanced the overall appearance of her smile but also helped restore areas of wear, creating a more balanced and harmonious result.

We're thrilled with the outcome, and most importantly, our patient left feeling even more confident and happy with her smile.

If you're considering enhancing your smile and boosting your confidence, get in touch with the practice today to book your consultation.
We'd love to help you achieve the smile you've always wanted 😁🤩

Dental appointments shouldn’t just be made when you have a problem that needs to be addressed. Prevention is always better than needing a cure and there are plenty more reasons why it’s important to maintain regular visits to your local dental practice:

1. Prevent Expensive Dental Problems
Firstly let's talk about cost! Skipping dental checkups can lead to painful and expensive issues like cavities (decay), gum disease, and infections. We can identify these problems early, saving you from unnecessary pain and more costly treatments. A routine visit now can prevent bigger problems later.

2. Detect Oral Health Issues Early
Many dental issues, such as tooth decay and gum disease, don’t usually cause pain in the early stages. Regular checkups with us ensure that any problems are caught early, allowing for simpler and less invasive treatments. We also check for oral cancers during your check up's - this involves a visual and physical examination of the mouth, including the lips, gums, cheeks, tongue, and throat.

3. Maintaining a Healthier and Brighter Smile
Professional cleans with our hygienists will remove calculus, and stains that everyday brushing just can’t tackle, setting you back to a great base to keep on top of your cleaning. Our practitioners can also provide expert advice on teeth whitening, prevention of decay, and maintaining a confident smile.

4. Check-Ups Protects Your Overall Health
Oral health is linked to lots of conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and strokes. By visiting a dentist regularly, you’re not just protecting your teeth, you’re looking after your overall health! A simple checkup can help detect early signs of serious health issues.

✨ Patient Transformation ✨

This lovely patient of our dentist Luke Blythe, had previously had orthodontic work with him a few years ago to straighten her teeth, however, with a very important event coming up our patient wanted to improve the look and aesthetics of her teeth further.
Our patient first started by whitening to lighten the shade of her teeth with the Philips Zoom Whitening System, before having composite bonding to finish and create the smile she has always wanted.
We think they look fantastic and really compliment her smile perfectly! 🤩
