🦷 WELCOME JACK 🦷

Please join us in welcoming Jack to the practice! 👋

We’re delighted to introduce Dr Jack Cottam, BDS MFDS (Ed.), who is joining our team as a dentist.

Jack qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2019 and has since gained experience across a range of dental practices, developing particular interests and experience in oral surgery, restorative dentistry and advanced general dentistry. He has also completed the prestigious Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) and a Totally Composite course.

Outside of dentistry, Jack is an avid runner, keen fell walker and landscape photographer. He has completed all of the Wainwrights and is now working his way through the Munros! He’s also a beekeeper and speaks fluent French. 🇫🇷

We’re really pleased to have Jack joining us and know he’ll be a fantastic addition to the team. Welcome, Jack! 👋🦷

Last Saturday we celebrated our 5th year at Lakes Dental!

We had a great afternoon in Ulverston and took a visit to the Shed One Distillery for afternoon tea. 🧁

We also celebrated the lovely Naomi's birthday and what a great excuse to enjoy a double celebration in the glorious sunshine!

We are so grateful to care for this amazing community. Thank you to every single patient who has trusted us with your smile over the past 5 years. 🥰

Emergencies don't wait and neither does our team!

This morning we stepped away from the clinical side to complete our annual First Aid and Medical Emergencies training with Panda Paramedic 🐼🚨

We do this so that- should a medical emergency ever arise, our patients are in the safest hands possible.

💧HYDRATE: Dehydration leads to dry mouth, meaning less saliva to wash away cavity- causing bacteria.

Water is the best thing to keep you well hydrated. Remember to take regular sips throughout the day instead of gulping.

🧊 ICE: Crunching on ice cubes is the leading cause of chipped teeth, fractured enamel and damaged fillings.

🍉 SNACK SMART: Swap sticky candies for water- rich crunchy snacks like watermelon or cucumber.

👄 DON'T FORGET YOUR LIPS: UV rays can damage your lips just as much as your skin. Use SPF lip balm.
